WHY REPLACE BOTH OVERLOCKER KNIVES?

The upper and lower knives on an overlocker work together continuously to trim the edge of the fabric before or during stitch formation.

Over time, the cutting edges can become blunt, chipped or damaged. Common signs of worn overlocker knives can include:

• Fabric not cutting cleanly
• Frayed or uneven cut edges
• Material being pushed instead of cut
• Difficulty cutting thicker fabrics
• Increased noise while trimming
• Poor or inconsistent overlocking results

We recommend replacing both the upper and lower knife together where possible.

Installing a new knife against a badly worn or damaged existing blade can cause the new cutting edge to become damaged or prematurely worn.
