The Schmetz 135X16 NW (also known as DPX16) is a precision-engineered industrial sewing machine needle featuring the Narrow Wedge Point "P", specifically designed for leatherwork and heavy-duty materials. This unique point shape forms a lenticular incision at right angles to the seam direction, producing high-strength, durable seams ideal for challenging applications.

With German engineering and a chrome finish, these needles offer long service life and enhanced resistance against wear during high-speed stitching. The twist groove below the eye protects the thread as the needle exits the material, minimising friction, fraying, and breakage—especially important in leather, upholstery, and automotive textiles.
