The SES (Light Ball Point) needle is designed to gently displace woven and knitted threads by piercing the spaces between them, minimizing the risk of fabric damage and ensuring smooth, uninterrupted stitching.

SCHMETZ developed the SERV 7 needle specifically to address common sewing issues, such as fabric damage and skipped stitches, especially when working with elastic materials. The SERV 7 needle is compatible with most needle systems and is available in all main point shapes and needle sizes.

Key features of the SERV 7 design include a hump scarf, which creates an exceptionally large thread loop for easier hook catching, and reinforced blades that provide extraordinary stability. This innovative design often allows the use of a smaller needle size without compromising stability, resulting in smaller stitch holes and optimized fabric displacement.

SERV 7 needles are reinforced by 15% and up to 20% in certain sizes, making them particularly resistant to bending. This design also protects other machine components, such as the hook, looper, and throat plate, from damage.
